Nautilus is the sole surviving genus of externally shelled cephalopod molluscs. They move through the ocean using jet propulsion. All species in this genus are protected under CITES appendix II and cannot be shipped internationally.
Having survived practically unchanged for hundreds of millions of years the Nautilus is often considered a living fossil.
