Phacops trilobite fossil

Phacops was a large genus of trilobites that roamed the waters of what is now North Africa, the Americas, Europe and mainland Asia during the Devonian period roughly 457-360 million years ago.  Previously containing over 50 species many of these have now been associated to new genera.
